It varies, but most pools have closed for the season by the end of October and reopen mid March.
Though some have heated pools (like the Monte Carlo, The Venetian, The Bellagio etc) that are open all year round.
If there are any in particular you are asking about – have a look at this website, it’s most awesome.

We are going to stop in las vegas for a couple of nights after visiting California and I’m interested in 3 different hotels and wondering which one is best for my girls ages 12 and 15. The Excalibur, New York New York or The Paris. The Excalibur sounds more "kid friendly" but I like the looks of the Paris. Any advice on the restaurants at each hotel, rooms, pools and activities? Thanks!!
I have only stayed at Excalibur and Mandalay Bay. But Excalibur is definitely a great kid-friendly hotel. We took our two daughters last year and they were 2 and 6 at the time. My brother went with us and he was 12 and he loved it. There is a great arcade (Midway) downstairs with fun, affordable carnival games that are easy to win. We ended up walking away with a trash bag full of stuffed animals and pillows. The Tournament of Kings dinner show was their favorite. It is $60 per person but it includes a great dinner of game hen, broccoli, potato wedges, a pastry, and unlimited pepsi. They have 4 pools, one is devoted to adults only. Another one has small waterslides and a small waterfall, the water doesn’t go deeper than 3 or 4 ft I believe in any of the pools, but its like that in most of Vegas. There is a food court that includes Quiznos, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Krispy Kreme, and Starbucks. Restaurants- they have an Italian restaurant that is very affordable, a steak house that is a little more expensive, an average buffet with great prices, Dick’s Last Resort, and Sherwood Forest Cafe which is a 24-hour Denny’s type cafe, I love going there for breakfast.
I don’t know much about NY NY but they do have an arcade and the roller coaster, but it is directly across the street from Excalibur so you can visit those attractions without having to stay there. Excalibur is connected to Luxor by indoor walkway which is connected to Mandalay Bay by what some say is the best shopping mall area in Vegas, Mandalay Place. MGM Grand is also across the street and next door to MGM Grand is the Showcase Mall with M&M World and Coca Cola World. Below them is Gameworks, a huge arcade.
Excalibur also has the best value on the strip. The hotel is not a luxury hotel, but it is really a decent hotel. If you upgrade to the Widescreen room ($10-$20 more per night) you wouldn’t even know you weren’t staying in a luxury hotel. It has beautiful warm decor, a 42" widescreen TV, and marble countertops in the bathroom. Check the best rates here http://smartervegas.com/hotels/excalibur/promotionalcodes.aspx
If you don’t see a deal you can use, just keep checking it because they update it often, also sign up for email offers from Excalibur.com.
Hope this helps!

Looking for a great deal on your next Vegas hotel package? We donât blame you, especially in this economic environment. One of your biggest tricks to getting a deal of a lifetime is to really target the promotions run by las vegas Hotels.Â
Hotel promotions are a way of life in Vegas. As they try to attract more and more visitors, they need to do something to stand out from the crowd. Right now, it is a highly competitive buyers market because of the economyâ¦.. That translates to it is an outstanding time to come to Vegas.
But why do these promos exist in the first place?  They exist for three main reasons: to help counteract the distances that many visitors have to travel to reach Las Vegas, to create incentives to experience the city, and to attract celebrities that in turn attract regular tourists. Without promotions being offered on a regular basis in Las Vegas, it would be a very different town. Â
As you probably know, thousands and thousands of tourists crowd las vegas casinos and hotels each week, literally spending millions of dollars that then benefits our local economy.  The dirty little secret is that very few of these visitors pay full price for their rooms, meals, or entertainment.  The truth is that if everyone had to pay full price for these amenities, then the total number of visitors would be much less thus affecting the overall economy.  Hence the origin of the promo business in Las Vegas.
As an individual visitor to Las Vegas, you can drive yourself crazy trying to keep track of who is offering the best promotion when you are visiting. We have had clients tells us they have spent 30 hours online to save $250 dollars. This is probably not the best use of their time or energies.Â
Instead, have you considered working with a professional that does this all day, every day. What if I was to tell you that there are professionals that work very hard to find you the best deal to save you moneyâ¦. And they can save you a ton of money because they know where all the good promoâs are and which ones are coming. You would probably pay a lot of money for that, right? Well, no need to do that because we are compensated by the hotels and casinos to save you money. You canât beat that kind of deal.
For so many visitors, a trip to Las Vegas is an expensive and time consuming process but it just does not need to be that way. Imagine for a second that when a hotel or a casino operator wants to offer an unbelievable special or promotion. Who do you think they contact first? Simply, they contact those people that are responsible for booking 100âs, if not 1000âs of visitors into their hotels each yearâ¦.. people who operate businesses like myself. Because of this, we will always have the latest information to help you get the absolute best travel package and rock bottom pricing.Â

Last time I was in Vegas, the first thing I did for about an hour was relax and watch this TV show in the hotel room that was basically an ‘insider’ type show, giving you a tour of what to do and see in Vegas. Very cool channel. I think it may have been called "the 6" or something along those lines.
Does anyone remember what the channel is called? I’m sure it’s broadcast in all Vegas Hotel’s channel lineups. I tried googling it, but haven’t gotten any results.
It is local to the hotels only I live here and we do not see that one on local cable. It is very interesting. There is a companion magazine called "What’s ON%
