LAS VEGAS WEEKEND VACATION HIGHLIGHTS – JUNE, 2009

I went to las vegas for a fun weekend vacation and a friends honeymoon. I stayed at the beautiful LUXOR hotel and casino on the Strip. I filmed a few random things, and so did my friend, then I edited the clips all together. This is just an 9-minute video of some highlights of our trip. It was filmed using my mini FLIP camcorder and his i-Phone 3G S. It’s not the best quality, because I had to compress the file to upload here to YouTube.

Excalibur Hotel and Casino Las Vegas – 2007

I was in las vegas, Nevada for a few days last November and here is some video footage I shot from my room at the Excalibur hotel and casino.
My room faced the strip and from my vantage point you could see the strip (Las Vegas boulevard), the new Hooters hotel across the street, the MGM Grand, the Tropicana and the Luxor right next door.

I would first check with the hotel websites for a good rate. las vegas Direct http://www.LasVegasDirect.com and Travelocity.com also have very good rates and offer good deals on air/hotel packages.

1st vacation to Las Vegas in summer?

My friends and I, three of us, all 21 years old are planning to go to Vegas end of July. None of us have ever been there. I would like any advice from anyone that’s ever been there or known anyone (and heard their stories) on what to do, where to stay, places that are must-see, etc. I want to make the most of this, and for it to be amazing…

There are some great room rates from July 15-18 and again from the 22nd to the 27th if you do some checking around

Paris is an incredible four star hotel in a great location, they have $99 rates for the 15th-18th

Flamingo has $90 rates from the 22nd to the 27th >great location >great pool

Barbary Coast – has $70 rates – best location on the strip – but no pool.

the Luxor is in the south strip hotel cluster, and they have great rates sometimes.

To get the best rates avoid weekends, special events and large conventions.

If you’re looking for a nice hotel on the strip that’s a real bargain, try the Stratosphere. It’s location at the far north end of the strip makes it unpopular, which makes it all the better for us bargain hunters. You can often stay there for $40-$50 during the week. The Stratosphere is NOT old, dumpy, cheap, run down and any of the other garbage that gets spewed about the place. It’s a very nice 3 star hotel, that opened in April of 1996, The Stratosphere is not the old "Vegas World" hotel that used to set in the same spot..They have an "adult" pool and there are some great rides on top of their 1,000 ft tower, X Scream, High Roller, Big Shot and Insanity.
